Yamaha FX 2012 onwards Wear Ring Housing to replace your swollen or warn part. When submerged in salt water the Aluminium Wear Ring Housing often corrodes due to the chemical reaction between Aluminium & Stainless Steel when it comes into contact with salt water. Thorough cleaning with fresh water and Salt Assassin will slow down or stop this process. Another cause of the Wear Ring Housing failure is Wear between the Impeller and the Wear Ring Housing due to sand or extended usage. Yamaha say that .5mm will cause Cavitation.
